Add name & date to your photo, ready for govt forms.
Upload your photo, type your name, pick the date of photograph — we add the white strip, resize it and compress it to the KB limit your form asks for.
Name & DOP strip
Your name and the date of photograph are placed neatly on a white strip under the photo, auto-fitted to the width.
Exact photo size
Choose a ready size such as 3.5 × 4.5 cm, or type your own width and height in pixels.
Fits the KB limit
Set a minimum and maximum size in KB. Too big gets compressed, too small gets padded — the picture stays the same.
Position your face
Drag the photo, zoom with the slider or mouse wheel, or rotate it, until your face sits right.
Stays on your device
Your photo is processed locally in your browser — nothing is ever uploaded.
Genuinely free
No signup, no watermark, and no limit on how many photos you make.
Add name and date on photo for government job forms
Many government vacancy and exam application forms ask for a passport-size photo that shows your name and the date of the photograph (DOP) on a strip at the bottom, in a JPG within a fixed size and KB range. Doing this by hand in an editor is slow and easy to get wrong. This tool adds the strip, resizes the photo and fits the file size in a few clicks.
How to add name and date on your photo
- Upload your photo — click the box or drag the image into it.
- Position it — drag the photo and zoom until your face is centred.
- Type your name and pick the date — choose the date format and label your form needs.
- Set the size and KB limit — copy them from your recruitment notification.
- Download the JPG — the badge shows the final size so you know it will upload.

Tips for a photo that gets accepted
- Use a plain, light background, even lighting and a straight face — no shadows, caps or dark glasses unless the notification allows them.
- Enter the date on which the photograph was actually taken, and check how recent the notification requires it to be.
- Copy the exact dimensions and KB range from the notification. They change from one exam to another.
- If the text looks tiny at a small image size, choose a larger strip or a bigger image size, then check the preview before downloading.
Frequently asked questions
What is DOP on a photo for government forms?DOP stands for Date of Photograph. Many government job and exam forms ask for a passport-size photo with your name and the date it was taken printed on a white strip at the bottom. This tool adds that strip for you.
What size and KB limit should I choose?Use exactly what your recruitment notification says, because it differs from one exam to another. Enter the width, height and minimum/maximum KB in the tool, and it will make the JPG fit that range automatically.
What if my photo is too big or too small in KB?If the file is above your maximum, the tool lowers the JPG quality until it fits. If it is below your minimum, it adds invisible padding to the file so it reaches the minimum size without changing the picture. If the file still cannot fit, reduce the width and height.
Which date should I enter?Enter the date on which the photograph was actually taken. Many forms require a recent photo, so check the notification for how recent it must be.
Can I use a photo taken on my phone?Yes. Use a plain light background, good lighting and a straight face with no shadows. Upload the photo, drag it so your face is centred, and zoom if needed.
Is my photo uploaded to a server? No. Your photo is processed entirely in your browser and never leaves your device.
Is this tool free? Does it work on mobile? It is completely free, with no signup and no watermark, and it works in any modern mobile or desktop browser.
