- Use PDFs with selectable text. If you can highlight the text in the PDF, it can be converted.

How does PDF to Excel conversion work?The tool reads the text and its exact position on each page, groups the text into rows, finds the columns from the gaps between them, and writes the result into an Excel (.xlsx) file. Numbers such as 1,25,000.00 or (500.00) become real numbers you can add up and use in formulas.
Which PDFs work best?PDFs created on a computer with real, selectable text: bank and account statements, invoices, price lists, ledgers, mark sheets and reports. Tables with the same columns on every page give the cleanest result.
Can it convert a scanned PDF or a photo of a page?No. A scanned PDF only contains pictures of text, so there is nothing to read. It needs OCR (text recognition) first. The tool tells you when a PDF has no selectable text.
Why are some cells merged into one column or split into two?Columns are found from the gaps between text, so tables with very irregular spacing, text spanning several columns, or wrapped multi-line cells may need a quick clean-up in Excel. Choosing "All pages in one sheet" helps when every page has the same columns.
Will numbers and dates stay correct?Amounts and percentages are converted to numbers with the same decimals. Long digit strings such as phone and account numbers, and values with leading zeros, stay as text so they are not changed. Dates are kept exactly as written. You can turn number conversion off to keep everything as text.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, so confidential statements and invoices stay on your device.
Can I convert only some pages? What about password-protected PDFs?Yes. Use Custom range, for example 1-3,5. For a password-protected PDF the tool asks for the password.
