Frequently asked questions

Will my Word document look exactly the same in the PDF?For typical documents such as letters, resumes, invoices, reports and forms, the layout is very close to Word: same page size, margins, fonts, line breaks, tables, lists, headers, footers and page numbers. Word's own fonts are replaced with metric-compatible equivalents, so lines and pages break in the same places. Very complex layouts (SmartArt, charts, WordArt, equations) are not fully drawn.
Is the text in the PDF selectable and searchable?Yes. English and other Latin-script text is real, selectable text, and links stay clickable. Text in scripts such as Hindi, Gujarati or Arabic is drawn using your device's fonts so it looks right, but that part is a picture and cannot be selected.
Is my document uploaded to a server? No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser on your own device. Your Word file is never uploaded, so confidential documents stay private.
Which Word formats are supported?Modern Word files with the .docx extension. Old .doc files are not supported: open them in Word and use File > Save As > Word Document (.docx), then convert.
Why do some fonts look slightly different from Word?A browser cannot use Word's own fonts. The tool uses look-alike fonts with identical character widths for Calibri, Cambria, Arial, Times New Roman and Courier New, so the layout matches. Other fonts are replaced with the closest available look-alike.
Can I convert many Word files at once?Yes. Add several files, and download each PDF separately or all of them together as a ZIP.
Is there a file size limit? Is it free?It is free, with no signup, no watermark and no daily limit. Documents of several megabytes convert in a few seconds; very large documents with many high-resolution images take longer and depend on your device.
